Writing

Persuasive Writing

Coherence
The quality of being logically connected and consistent throughout writing.
Unity
The principle that all parts of a written piece should relate to and support the main idea.
Prewriting Stage
The initial stage of writing where ideas are planned and organized before drafting.
Writing Stage
The stage where the actual drafting of the written work takes place, using organized ideas from prewriting.
Postwriting Stage
The final stage of writing that involves editing and proofreading the drafted work.
Outline
A formal detailed statement showing the structure and content of writing, typically arranged to show the transition between ideas.
Alphanumerical Outline
A method of outlining where ideas are organized using a combination of letters and numbers.
Decimal Outline
A method of outlining where ideas are organized using decimal notation.
