What is an Owl Cam and when is it best used?

360 degree camera, best used in the center of a conference setup to face all participants from the center outward (Senate Chambers is ideal)

What is a logitech webcam, and when might we use that instead?

Standard webcam (faces one direction) that clips to the top of the computer monitor, facing just the person operating the tech cart. Ideal when the remote audience just needs to see the presenter.

What do we say when someone requests a microphone for a standard meeting room (not Senate Chambers)?

We don’t have built-in microphones for our meeting rooms, but the space is small enough they aren’t usually needed. Follow up to see why they ask and connect them with James Cho if the request is still relevant

What do we tell folks that ask about microphones in the Senate Chambers?

There is a “push to talk” microphone at every table which feed nicely into the computer audio for zoom sessions and/or recording. The sound is not amplified into the room though- forward to James Cho if that concern comes up.
