What should you do if the power supply is not producing an output voltage? Give probable causes
Check the supply voltage, fuse, choke / coil filter & regulator circuit.
What if you found out that the cause of trouble is the diode in the regulator circuit?
Checking the diode not in circuit, we use x1 as the range in the ohmmeter, then check the diode in reverse and forward bias testing.
Forward-bias testing = 0 ohms
Reverse-bias testing = infinite ohms
How are you going to check a transformer using an ohmmeter?
Use x1 range and test the primary and secondary wiring. Resistance of the primary must be higher than the secondary.q
