Measurement
The process of comparison of the given physical quantity with the known standard quantity of the same nature.
Unit
The quantity of a constant magnitude which is used to measure the magnitudes of other quantities of the same nature.
Magnitude of a Physical Quantity
The expressed value of a measurement given by the formula Numerical Value×Unit.
Properties of a Unit
The four essential requirements for a standard measurement unit: convenient size, unambiguous definition, reproducibility, and invariance across space and time.
