Positive
Values that are over the x-axis.
Negative
Values that are below the x-axis.
Rate of Change (ROC)
Just slope, also known as xy.
Point of Inflection
The location where a function changes concavity.
Domain
The set of all possible input values, noted in the transcript as (−∞,∞).
Secant
A line passing through the circle.
Average Rate of Change (AROC)
Calculated using the formula x2−x1y2−y1 and 9 times out of 10 has to do with time.
Concave down
Describes a graph where the Rate of Change (ROC) is decreasing.
Concave up
Describes a graph where the Rate of Change (ROC) is increasing.
Quadratic
A type of function where the 2nd differences are the same and the AROCs form a linear pattern.
Linear
A type of function where the AROCs are constant.
