color can be used to create emotion, mood, and harmony

hue

refers to any color in its purest form!

means color in itself

lacks any black or white it’s just pure and represents just one dimension of a color

primary colors

colors that can not be obtained by any mixture

main colors

secondary colors

colors obtained by mixing equal parts of two primary colors

tertiary colors

colors formed by mixing equal amounts of a primary color and secondary color that neighbors it.

colors that fall directly across from each other on the color wheel

think christmas, citrus, lakers colors

analogous colors

colors located directly next to each other on the color wheel

saturation

refers to the pureness/ dominance of a hue in a color

truest most vibrant, strong and intense version of that color

desaturated

this means a lot of the pure color has been removed

they are colors mixed with white

value

brightness of a color

tone
