compound fracture
piercing through the skin from trauma or high impact injury like car crash
closed simple fracture
bone breaks but does not pierce through skin from any severe trauma
spiral fracture
breaks in a spinal shape opening up cavity from twisting or rotating inuries

not straight across but at an angle from twisting their leg during a fall a car accident or a sports injury

2 points at point of head crunch into eachother from downward force

most common small but all the way through the bone painful bc nereved damaged from repeated overuse or pressure of the bone

small piece of bone is pulled of by a tendon or ligament, elbows and hip from ankle sprain or jumping injuries
greenstick fracture
bones bend and partially break most common in kids bc their bones r flexible
colles fracture
distal ends of radius from catching yourself when falling
potts fracture
very severe sprained ankle also break a part of fibula, soft tissue damage w tendons and ligaments
compression fracture
vertebrae breaks out/open from force like falling on butt
