Cell
The basic unit of life on earth.
Tissue
A group of cells that work together to perform a specific function.
Organ
A structure made up of different types of tissues that work together to perform a specific function.
Organ System
A group of organs that work together to perform a specific function or set of functions in the body.
Organism
A living individual that can carry out all the processes of life.
Digestive System
Responsible for breaking down food into nutrients that can be absorbed by the body.
Integumentary System
Provides protection against external threats, regulates body temperature, and helps with the excretion of waste products.
Nervous System
Responsible for coordinating and controlling the body's activities.
Skeletal System
Provides support, protection, and movement for the body.
Muscular System
Responsible for movement and locomotion.
Reproductive System
Responsible for the production of offspring.

Sperm
Male reproductive cell.
Egg/Ova
Female reproductive cell.
Epithelial tissue
Type of tissue that forms the covering of all body surfaces, lines body cavities and hollow organs.
Connective tissue
Type of tissue that binds structures together, forms a framework and support for organs and the body.
Nervous tissue
Type of tissue responsible for coordinating and controlling many body activities; made up of neurons.
Muscular tissue
Type of tissue composed of cells that have the ability to contract in order to produce movement.
