paralysis of the long thoracic nerve would result in
winging of the scapula
serratus anterior m. is innervated by

the pectoralis major m. is innervated by
medial pectoral & lateral pectoral n.
the pectoralis minor m. is innervated by
medial pectoral n.
the latissimus dorsi m. is innervated by
thoracodorsal n.
both the serratus anterior m. and pectoralis minor m. perform what action
protracts scapula
the serratus anterior m. protracts scapula (along with pectoralis minor) as well as
holds scapula against thoracic wall
the pectoralis minor m. protracts scapula (along with serratus anterior m.) as well as
assists with breathing (elevates ribs when scapula is stationary)
both pectoralis major and latissimus dorsi m. perform these actions
adducts arm & medially rotates arm
the latissimus m. performs one additional action then the two it shares with pectoralis major m. which is
arm extension
