Chapter-2 Polynomials

Constant

A symbol which has a fixed value, such as $3$, $7$, or $205$.

Variable

A symbol which can take various values, such as $x$, $y$, or $z$.

Term

Constants alone, variables alone, or a combination of constants and variables using multiplication and division, such as $7$, $x$, $7x$, or $\frac{x}{3}$.

Algebraic Expression

A combination of terms using addition and subtraction, such as $7x+3$, $2z-5$, or $3x+4y^2$. It is an expression that contains both constants and variables.

Numeric Expression

An expression which contains only numbers.

Polynomial

An algebraic expression whose powers of the variables are non-negative integers or whole numbers ($0$ or positive integers).
