Parietal pleura
The serous membrane that lines the thoracic cavity.
Visceral pleura
The serous membrane that lines the lung.
Parietal peritoneum
The serous membrane that lines the entire abdominal cavity; described as an empty shell if all organs were removed.
Visceral peritoneum
The serous membrane that lines each abdominal organ.
Visceral pericardium
The serous membrane that lines the heart directly; described as being like a sock on your foot.
Greater omentum
Also known as the omental apron of the gastrocolic ligament.
Colons
Defined as the various regions of the large intestine.
Cecum
A specific part or region of the large intestine.
Epicardium
The layer superficial to the epicardial fat on the heart.
Retroperitoneal space
The anatomical space containing the kidney, ureter, and perirenal fat.
Cardiac notch
A specific indentation found on the left lung.
Lingula
A specific anatomical feature of the left lung.
Horizontal fissure
A groove or landmark found on the lungs.
L. primary bronchus
A branch of the trachea that leads into the left lung.
Perirenal fat
Fatty tissue surrounding the kidney within the retroperitoneal space.
Trachea
The main airway that divides into the left (L.) primary bronchus.
Mesentery
A fold of tissue that attaches organs to the body wall, specifically associated with the small intestine in the transcript.
Parietal pericardium
A serous membrane structure associated with the cavity containing the heart.
Diaphragm
The muscular structure that separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominal cavity.
Ureter
The tube that carries urine from the kidney, located in the retroperitoneal space.
Spleen
An abdominal organ located near the stomach and diaphragm.
