Cranial Bones
Consists of eight bones that surround and protect the brain, forming the cranial cavity
Frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital, sphenoid, and ethmoid bones
Facial Bones
Consists of fourteen bones that form the structure of the face, support the teeth, and create the openings for the eyes, nose, and mouth
Maxillae, zygomatic bones, nasal bones, lacrimal bones, palatine bones, inferior nasal conchae, vomer, and mandible
How do the work together?
Cranial and facial provides protection for brain, support the sensory organs, enable functions such as chewing and breathing, and contribute to the overall shape and appearance of the face
