English sea captain, privateer, and explorer who circumnavigated the globe (1577–1580). He also raided Spanish ships and settlements in the Americas.
John Smith
English soldier and explorer who played a key role in establishing Jamestown. He helped maintain order and negotiated with Native Americans for the colony’s survival.
