Chapter 1
Victor returns to Geneva after William’s death.
He visits the spot where William dies and sees the creature surrounded by lightning.
He realizes the creature is the murderer
Justine Moritz is accused of the crime because William’s locket is found in her pocket.
Chapter 2
Victor climbs to the glacier of Montanvert.
The Creature appears and approaches him.
Victor curses him and threatens to attack.
The Creature does not fight but asks Victor to listen to his story before judging him.
He says: “I am thy creature: I ought to be thy Adam, but I am rather the fallen angel.”
He convinces Victor to come to a cave so he can explain everything that has happened since his creation.
The Creature begins telling his story — and this starts the Creature’s narrative in Chapter 3.

the creature appears at Montanvert
the creatures asks Victor to listen and states that he was born good but became evil due to feelings of rejection
Chapter 5
The Creature watches the De Lacey family for months, it notices they are poor —sometimes the children give up their food for their father.
the creature gathering wood at night.
By listening to them speak, he learns language.
A foreign woman named Safie arrives to learn their language, and the Creature learns by listening to their lessons.
Chapter 6
The creature watches Felix, Agatha, and their blind father.
Safie, a Turkish Christian woman, unable to speak French, is taught by Felix. The Creature eavesdrops, and he learns to speak and read.
Paradise Lost by John Milton (he relates to Satan and Adam)
The creature discovers Victor’s journal pages from when Victor abandoned him
The Creature waits until the blind father ( De Lacey) is home. when Felix, Agatha, and Safie return.
They panic → Agatha faints → Safie runs → Felix attacks the Creature and it runs into the woods.
