What is the recognition-by-components (RBC) theory? What are the 2 processes at play?
The theory suggests that we recognise objects by breaking them down into a small set of basic 3D shapes called geons (geometric ions) and then identifying how those geons are arranged relative to one another.

One responsible for features and components
Another for overall shape and global patterns
What are oculomotor cues?
Convergence: eyes turn inwards when we focus on close objects
Accommodation: shape of lenses in the eye changes shape depending on an objects distance

What are binocular cues in depth perception?
Each eye has a different view of the world(stereopsis), leading to binocular disparity.

What is agnosia?
A failure to recognise objects, often caused by brain damage.
