How do they cut?
Restriction enzymes cut DNA at specific sequences, creating fragments with either blunt or sticky ends.
Type I enzymes
recognizes sites but cuts at random
Type II enzymes
recognizes palindromes (dna which read same front and back) and cuts near them.
Type III
recognizes site but cuts at different location (within ~ 25bp)
