Variable
is a letter used to represent 6 a number. It's value varies (can have multiple values).
Parallelogram
m is a four-sided figure with two pairs of parallel sides and opposite sides that are equal in length.
Straightedge
is a tool to draw straight lines.
Quadrilateral
a four-sided polygon
Trapezoid
is a quadrilateral with two bases that are parallel to each other. The other two sides of a trapezoid are called the legs of the trapezoid.
Composite figure
is a figure made up of more than one geometric figure.
Volume
is the amount of space occupied by an object. You measure the volume of an object in cubic units.
Geometric solid
is a bounded three-dimensional geometric figure.
Polyhedron
is a three-dimensional solid figure made up of polygons.
Face
is one of the polygons that makes up a polyhedron.
Edge
is the intersection of two faces of a three-dimensional figure.
Vertex
The point where multiple edges meet.
Unit cube
is a cube whose sides are all 1 unit long.
Right rectangular prism
is a polyhedron with three pairs of congruent and parallel rectangular faces.
Cube
is a polyhedron that has congruent squares as faces.
Congruent
Having the same size and shape
Net
is a two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional geometric figure.
Surface area
of a polyhedron is the total area of all its two-dimensional faces.
Pyramid
is a polyhedron with one base and the same number of triangular faces as there are sides of the base. The vertex of a pyramid is the point at which all the triangular faces intersect.
Slant height
is the distance measured along a triangular face from the vertex of the pyramid to the midpoint of an edge of the base.
