citizens will not be required to quarter troops peacetime

government (police) must have search warrants based upon probable cause in order to search citizen homes and confiscate evidence to be used at trial

right to remain silent; protection against double jeopardy, protects private property from government seizure without compensation (eminent domain)

right to an attorney in certain instances; right to a public, speedy, jury trial; must know charges and be able to face witnesses against them

jury trial in civil cases over $20

prevents cruel & unusual punishment, excessive bails & fines
Bill 9
rights not listed in Constitution, may be held by people
Bill 10
rights not listed in Constitution as belonging to the federal government, may belong to states
