Human Nature

* has a powerful sense of fairness and innate objection to huge inequalities of outcome

Society

* thanks to Keynes principles, advanced societies could enjoy permanent economic growth and full employment - so can enjoy steady expansion of welfare state
* ultimately diminish inequality and advance socialism

The State

* democratic socialist govt (labour 1945-51) prove that the existing state can be used to effect radical socialist change
* future target from state = more public spending & public services
* less public ownership bc wasn’t aim of socialism, just method to achieve
* want new form of state education - comprehensive schools to break down class divisions more effectively

The Economy

* mixed economy, underpinned by limited public ownership and Keynesian economics (state-managed capitalism)
* will finance the greater public spending necessary to secure equality
