How do you form the Passato Prossimo?
Auxillary verb (avere or essere) + past participle
Use essere for movement, staying, reflexives, and change of state (born, died, become) → IMPORTANT - when using essere, participle ending must agree with number and gender of subject
Past Participle: -are → -ato, -ere → uto, -ire → -ito
I bought the ticket for the metro
Ho comprato il biglietto per la metro
I received the receipt
Ho ricevuto lo scontrino
I understood everything, thank you
Ho captio tutto, grazie
I’m in a good mood here in Rome!
Sono preso bene qui a Roma!
Did you order the pizza?
Hai ordinato la pizza?
