General procedure

  1. Close stopcock on the burette

  2. transfer the titrant into the burette using a funnel

  3. obtain a known volume of analyte using a pipette and place the analyte in an Erlenmeyer flask

  4. add 1-3 drops of an indicator into the analyte

  5. place Erlenmeyer flask under burette and open stopcock

  6. quickly, then slowly add titrant to the analyte until the instant the indicator has changed colour for 30 secs

  7. Repeat 2-3x for accuracy
