Static Shot
A camera position that remains fixed throughout the entire shot, conveying stability and focus.
Establishing shots showcasing details
Pan
A horizontal rotation of the camera on its base, moving from side to side.
Following moving subjects/reveals a wider environment/est scene
Tilt
A vertical movement of the camera on its base, pivoting up or down.
Reveals elements outside initial frame
Roll
rotation of the camera. disorienting.
Dolly
Moving the camera forward, backward, or sideways along a dolly track to create depth.
Reveals scene details, sense of depth
Zoom Shot
Adjusting the camera lens's focal length to change the shot's perspective without physically moving the camera.
Truck Shot
Tracking shot, lateral side2side motion. follows action(character) along a path.
Establishing Shot
The opening shot that sets the location and context for the upcoming sequence.
Pedestal
Moving the camera up and down, Height + depth/alter composition

Long shot
Captures full body following from est. shot. drawing to current scene
Medium Shot
waist up, dialogue shots
Close-Up
A shot that brings the camera closer to a single subject, filling the entire frame for dramatic effect.
extreme close up
focusing on specific body parts, minute deets, eyes hands, objects, etc
Bird's-Eye View
A camera angle shot directly from above the subject, looking straight down to create a sense of overview.
High Angle
A shot taken from above the subject's eye level, often to make subjects appear less powerful or evoke vulnerability.
Low Angle
A shot taken from below the subject's eye level, making them appear larger and more powerful.
Oblique Angle
A camera angle that deviates from a straight-on view, adding drama or tension to a scene.
Third Person POV
A camera perspective that shows the scene from a detached observer's viewpoint.
First Person POV
A camera perspective that moves with the character, creating a sense of immersion.
Over-the-Shoulder Shot
A shot showing a character's perspective by positioning the camera behind and to one side of them.
