Alternative forms of a gene that arise by mutation and are found at the same place on a chromosome

If your allele is FF what does it mean?

Homozygous Dominate Genotype

If you alleles are ff what does it mean?

Homozygous Recessive Genotype

If your alleles are Ff what does it mean?

Heterozygous genotype

What are phenotypes determined by?

Traits like eye/hair color, height, blood type

What does incomplete dominance look like?

Where both alleles of a gene are expressed

• ex: Rr and Rr results in RR, Rr, Rr, rr

What happens during Codominance?

Where two alleles of the same gene are expressed separately to yield different traits

• ex: BB and WW results in BW BW BW BW (the offsping would be both black and white)
