more education for women, higher access to family planning / contraceptives, later age of pregnancy, less need for children to be used for labor, edcational opportunities require more time
Why does female education effect total fertility rate?
more education = fewer unplanned pregnancies, more education means more jobs so less time for children, marrying much older means less time to have kids
