Nei Gong
Internal Skill; the process by which a person may condition their physical body, cultivate their internal universe, and elevate their consciousness.
Qi Gong
Energy Skill; an art combining controlled breathing, slow movements, and a calm mind to enable internal energy to flow more efficiently through the energy system.
Jing
Essence; the densest vibrational frequency of the three substances, associated with the physical body, creation, and nourishment.
Qi
Energy; a vibrational frequency that moves through the meridian system and is associated with the energy body.
Shen
Spirit; the highest vibrational frequency substance associated with the consciousness body and connection with Dao.
Wuji
Without extremities; the universal state of primordial chaos and utter stillness containing the dormant information for all of existence.
Taiji
The motive force of creation; a spiralling energetic wave that acts as a catalyst to divide Wuji into the poles of Yin and Yang.
Yin
The pole of opposition characterized as black, broken lines, darkness, femininity, and still energy.
Yang
The pole of opposition characterized as white, solid lines, brightness, masculinity, and moving energy.
Wu Xing
Five Elemental Processes (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood) that provide direction to energy waves and dictate cycles of change.
Lower Dan Tien
A sphere of Qi located roughly 3.0 inches below the navel that serves as the driving force for Qi circulation and converts Jing to Qi.
Middle Dan Tien
The second energy centre located at the level of the heart that converts Qi to Shen and acts as the gateway to the consciousness body.
Upper Dan Tien
The energy centre located behind the Yintang point in the forehead where Shen is directed and refined.
Meridians
Energetic pathways (Jing Luo) that transfer Qi throughout the body to various organs and tissues.
Sung
The systematic transference of habitual tension from the physical or consciousness body into the energetic realm to be discharged.
Wei Qi Field
Guardian Qi; a protective energetic shell running around the skin that filters out negative environmental or emotional information.
Aura
The Etheric body; an outer energetic shell expanding like a bubble around the body that stores information from interactions and past events.
Mingmen
The Gateway of your Ming (GV4); an acupuncture point in the lower back associated with the source of Kidney Yin and Yang essence.
Kua
The energetic gates located in the area between the pelvis and the tops of the legs that facilitate internal connection.
Ziran
The Daoist principle of returning to a natural state of being, often likened to the fluidity of a small child.
Yongquan
Bubbling Spring (K1); a major energy gate located on the base of the foot through which Earth energy is drawn into the body.
Baihui
Hundred Meetings (GV20); an acupuncture point on the crown of the head used to draw in Heaven Qi.
Huiyin
Meeting of Yin (CV1); an acupuncture point located at the perineum where the central branch of the thrusting meridian begins.
Ego
The false sense of self built from biases, conditioned thinking, and emotions that obscures true human consciousness.
Te
Virtues; the congenital manifestation of true consciousness (such as Patience or Contentment) that emerges once transient emotions are balanced.
Wu Wei
To act without governing; the principle of thinking, speaking, and acting according to true consciousness rather than the Ego.
