Melting
The process where a solid changes to a liquid as particles gain energy and move freely.
Freezing
The process where a liquid changes to a solid as particles lose energy and become organized.
Evaporation
The process where a liquid changes to a gas as particles gain energy and spread apart.
Condensation
The process where a gas changes to a liquid as particles lose energy and move closer.
Sublimation/Deposition
Direct changes between the solid and gas states.
Aim/Problem
The part of a scientific investigation that defines what you want to find out.
Materials & Equipment
The tools and substances needed to conduct a scientific investigation.
Procedure/Method
The sequence of steps to follow during an investigation.
Results & Data
Observations, measurements, and tables recorded during a scientific investigation.

Mitochondria
The organelle responsible for energy release within a cell.
Cell wall
A structure found in plant cells only, which provides support and is absent in animal cells.
Chloroplasts
Organelles found only in plant cells that are responsible for photosynthesis.
Large central vacuole
A characteristic feature of plant cells used for storage, whereas animal cells have smaller vacuoles.
