what are the primary goals of nursing?

• determine responses to human problems, level of wellness, and the need for help

• provide physical and emotional care, teaching, and guidance

• implement interventions to help pt reach their goals

what is the nursing process?

assessment (health status), diagnosis (what is the problem?), planning (what can we do?), implementation(plain in action, delegation, documentation), evaluation (were outcomes reached?)

what is subjective data?

patient perceptions, feelings, concerns, statements

primary (pt) or secondary (anyone else) data

what is objective data?

something i saw for myself, like the pt grimacing when i touched their abdomen

measurable through physical example (vitals, lab values)

what is WDL?

within defined limits!

do not say “normal”

use when things look the way we want them too
