Root Morpheme
The most basic stem of a word.

Bound morpheme

Prefix
A type of affix that is added to the beginning of a word to modify its meaning.
Suffix
A morpheme added to the end of a word to create a new word or alter its meaning.
Infix
A type of affix that is inserted into a word to modify its meaning, not often used in English.
Inflectional morphemes
Suffixes added to a word to express grammatical relationships, such as tense, mood, or number.
Derivational morphemes
Affixes that create a new word or change the grammatical category of a base word.
