Warmth, ABC’s (airway breathing circ), Rest+Reassure, Treatment, Semi-Prone/Suitable pos.
Warmth in warts
make sure they are warm with a blanket or extra clothing
Make sure they are not losing body temperature from shock or injury so they can recover faster
ABCs in warts
Airway = Make sure airway is clear and feels okay
Breathing = Make sure they can breath properly and thoroughly (maybe the 3 deep breaths check)
Circulation = check distal circ. pinching fingers is the easiest way. if it takes over 5 seconds for blood to rush back then it is a BAD SIGN
Rest+Reassure in warts
Make sure the victim or bystander is being spoken to calmly and reassure them everything is under control. Mention your position if not obvious or if needed (“I am certified in cpr or lifesaving etc)
Treatment in warts
make sure you are aware of any and all major and/or minor injuries and treat them asap if possible
Semi prone position
If they cannot sit because they are experiencing a MAJOR then lie them down (watch their head)
Make sure they are in a suitable / semi-prone position and that they are comfortable
Put the arm over their head straight touching their ear, and bend the knee on the opposite side. then roll them over (their head should fall on their arm, and the bent knee should fall over the straight leg)
