Learning
A relatively permanent change in behavior that occurs as a result of experience.
Behaviorism
Human behavior is decided by the experiences the learner has had based on consequences to various similar actions.
Cognitive Psychology
Humans have the capability to process & analyse information in their mind; maximising higher order cognitive functions reliant on perceptual organisation, memory, critical thinking and deduction.
COGNITIVE REPRESENTATION
Mental pictures/codes of learning.
Observational Learning
When someone uses observation of another person’s actions and their consequences to guide their future actions.
Vicarious reinforcement
Increases the likelihood of the observer behaving in a similar way to a model whose behaviour is reinforced.
Vicarious punishment
Decreases the likelihood of the observer behaving in a similar way after seeing model’s behaviour being punished.
Vicarious
Experienced as a result of watching, listening to, or reading about the activities of other people, rather than by doing the activities yourself.
Vicarious conditioning
The act of learning things through observing the reactions, attitudes, and emotions of others rather than direct exposure.
Real Life Model
Those we come into direct contact with ie parents, siblings, teachers, friends
Latent Learning
Learning without any direct reinforcement that remains unexpressed or hidden (unperformed) until it is needed.
Cognitive Map
A mental representation of the relationships between locations.
