Fixed Duration Schedule
A type of reinforcement schedule where the reinforcer is delivered after performing a behavior continuously for a specific period of time.
Variable Duration Schedule
A type of reinforcement schedule in which the reinforcer is delivered after an average amount of time has passed while performing a behavior continuously.
Differential Reinforcement of High Rates (DRH)
A schedule where the reinforcer is delivered after a minimum number of responses in a specified time, encouraging a high rate of responding.
Differential Reinforcement of Low Rates (DRL)
A schedule that requires a minimum amount of time to elapse between responses for reinforcement, promoting slower, more accurate performance.
Differential Reinforcement of Paced Responding (DRP)
A schedule requiring responses to fall within a specific interval that is neither too fast nor too slow.
Non Contingent Schedule
A type of schedule where reinforcement is administered regardless of whether a response occurs.
Fixed Time Schedule
A non contingent schedule where a reinforcer is given after a specific amount of time has passed, regardless of behavior.
Variable Time Schedule
A non contingent schedule where a reinforcer is delivered after varying amounts of time, without regard to the organism's behavior.
Superstitious Behavior
Behaviors that are developed due to reinforcement that occurs at certain times or under certain conditions without a contingency on the behavior.
Examples of Non Contingent Schedule
Reinforcements such as gifts on birthdays or guaranteed paychecks, regardless of behavior or performance.
