How do you make sure you have the right size?

Must fit the adjacent teeth, D-M dimension especially

Adaptation of the crown to the tooth should be checked

Margin should not exceed 1 mm into sulcus of the tooth

Trimming and Crimping will be necessary to obtain proper fit and marginal integrity

Keeping area dry and clear, the SSC should be adapted to the tooth surface

When the crown is properly trimmed and crimped, how much temporary cement placed?

about 1/2 or 2/3 full of the crown

What do you check for after the stainless steel crown is placed?

After placement, ensure crown is properly seated and within proper occlusion

Remove any excess cement that is interproximal or within the sulcus --> use of floss, explorer, water, gauze, etc.

What is done after cement has set?

occlusion is checked once again to ensure proper contacts and occlusion
