Adjacent Angles
Two angles that are next to each other and share a common side.
Vertical Angles
Two angles across from each other on intersecting lines that are always congruent.
Complementary Angles
Any two angles whose sum is 90∘.
Supplementary Angles
Any two angles whose sum is 180∘.
Linear Pair
Two angles that are adjacent and supplementary, forming a straight line.
Segment Bisector
A line or line segment that divides a line segment into two equal parts, such that AB=BC.
Midpoint
A point that is exactly halfway between two points, calculated as the average of the x-coordinates and the average of the y-coordinates to produce an ordered pair.
Midpoint Formula
The mathematical formula M=(2x1+x2,2y1+y2) used to locate the point halfway between two endpoints.
Distance
The length or measure of a straight line segment, resulting in a single numerical value.
Distance Formula
The formula d=(x2−x1)2+(y2−y1)2 used to find the measure of a straight line segment.
Multiplying Radicals
The mathematical operation of multiplying radical expressions together, such as 515×−220, before simplifying.
Dividing Radicals
The mathematical operation of dividing radical expressions, such as 515, to simplify the quotient.
