Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, References, and Multiple experiment/study articles (if applicable).
Why is peer review important?
Because they can suggest a way to improve your article and make recommendation on why your article should be published. They can also make sure you didn’t make an mistake on your findings.

What are the different cannons of scientific method?
Empiricism, Determinism, Parsimony, and Testability
Empiricism
Gaining knowledge through systematic observation of the world.
Determinism
The assumption that phenomena have identifiable causes.
Parsimony
The assumption that the simplest explanation of a phenomenon is most likely to be correct.
Testability
The assumption that explanations of behavior can be tested and falsified through observation.
Why is confirmation bias important?
It alters our reasonings and leads to poor decisions by making us ignore facts that contradicts what we already believe.
Confirmation bias
Seeking only evidence that supports our belief and ignoring evidence that contradicts those beliefs.
Descriptive research question
A research question that asks about the presence of behavior or how frequently it is exhibited.
Causal research question
A research question that ask what causes specific behaviors to occur.
What are the special considerations when researching with animals?
Must provide housing and care, must treat them humanly, researchers must have experience with that species.
Institutional review board (IRB)
A committee of knowledgeable individuals who oversee the ethics of research with human participants conducted at an institution.

Exempt, expedited, and full-review
What is exempt studies?
Studies that have the smallest amount of risk
What is expedited studies?
Studies that have minimal risk
What is full-review studies?
Studies with the highest amount of risk
Why is research methods a required class for all psych majors?
In order for us to research properly and understand what the data is providing.

A summary of an article that appears at the beginning of the article and in searchable database of journal articles.
Introduction
A section of an APA-style article that introduces the topic of the study, reviews relevant background studies, and presents predictions for the data
Method
Section of an APA-style article that describes the participants, design, stimuli, apparatus, and procedure used in the study.
Results
Section of an APA-style article that presents a summary of the results and the statistical tests of the predicitons.
Discussions
Section of the APA-style article that compares the results of a study to the prediction and results of previous studies.
