Integumentary

Protect the body, regulate temperature, prevents body loss. MO: Skin, hair, nails

Skeletal

Provides support and protection, gives body shape. MO: Bones, ligaments, cartilage, joints

Muscular

Provides movement for all parts of the body. MO: skeletal & smooth muscles

Nervous

Detects impulses from the senses; control center. MO: brain, spinal cord, senses, nerves

Endocrine

Secretes hormones. MO: glands (hypothalamus, pineal, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroids, thymus, adrenals, pancreas, ovaries, or testes.

Cardiovascular

Transports nutrients and gases around the body. MO: heart, blood vessels, blood.

Respiratory

Exchanges gases (oxygen & CO2) MO: lungs, sinuses, diaphragm

Immune/Lymphatic

Fights infection and provides fluid for all cells. MO: spleen, thymus gland, lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes

Digestive

Breaks down and absorbs food. MO: Mouth, esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder

Urinary

Removes waste from the blood. MO: Kidneys, bladder, ureters, urethra

Reproductive

Produces cells used in sexual reproduction. MO: ovaries, vagina, uterus, mammary glands | testes, penis, prostate gland
