Synovial joint

Hinge joint

Condyloid joint
A joint where a partially spherical end lies in a socket, allowing multidirectional movement and rotation.
Ball and Socket joint

Pivot joint
Joint where bones meet at ~flat articular surfaces. Bones move past one another along the plane of the joint.
Gliding (planar) joint
Joint where adjacent surfaces at the ends of each bone are saddle-shaped, with the saddles meeting to form an X shape.
