Hardware
The parts of a computer system that you can physically touch.
Software
Programs or sequences of instructions that tell the hardware what to do.
Computer system
A device that can receive data, store data, process data, and output data.
Input device
Receives data from the real world.
What is the Central Processing Unit (CPU)?
Processes program instructions.
What are Input devices?
A hardware device that transmits information/data into the CPU.
Examples of Input devices?
Examples include keyboard, mouse, web camera, scanner, and microphone.
What are Output devices?
Any hardware device used to transmit to the outside world the results of data processed by the CPU.
What are examples Output devices?
Examples include monitor, speakers, headphones, and printer.
What are Storage devices?
Any device used to store applications, data, or the operating system.
What is a Storage?
Stores data until it is needed for processing, can be temporary (RAM) or permanent (ROM).
Examples of Storage devices
Examples include hard drive, flash drive, and DVD.
