Monogastric
An animal that has a single-chambered stomach, such as pigs and humans.
Ruminant
An animal that has a complex stomach with multiple chambers, allowing for the fermentation and breakdown of plant material.
Cecum
A pouch connected to the junction of the small and large intestines, playing a crucial role in digestion, especially in herbivores.
Microflora
The community of microorganisms that live in the digestive tracts of animals, aiding in digestion.
Ulcer
A sore that develops on the lining of the stomach or intestine, often caused by factors like bacteria or prolonged use of certain medications.
Saliva

Reticulum
The second chamber of a ruminant's stomach, characterized by a honeycomb structure and responsible for trapping heavy objects.
