Substances that fight bacteria by interfering with their life cycle or stop them from reproducing.
Antibiotic Resistance
A phenomenon where bacteria become resistant to antibiotics due to overuse and mutation.
Superbug
Bacteria that are resistant to several kinds of antibiotics.
Positive Interactions of Microbes
Microbes help digest food, provide vitamins and nutrients, and can produce medicine.
Negative Interactions of Microbes
Microbes can cause diseases, food spoilage, and dental caries.
Ways to Slow Bacterial Growth
Refrigerate or freeze foods, seal foods properly, and use antibiotics judiciously.
