Types of tissues:
epithelial, connective, muscle, nervous
Functions of organ systems:
e.g., circulatory system (transport nutrients and oxygen), respiratory system (gas exchange)
Levels of Organisation:
The hierarchical structure of biological organization in living organisms, which includes cells, tissues, organs, organ systems, and organisms.
Cell:
The basic unit of life, which can perform all life processes.
Tissue: A group of similar cells that work together to perform a specific function.
Organ: A structure composed of different types of tissues that work together to perform a specific function.
Organ System: A group of organs that work together to perform complex functions for the organism.
Organism: A complete living entity that can function independently.
Examples of specialized cells: red blood cells (transport oxygen), neurons (transmit signals), epithelial cells (cover surfaces)
