Match the Principle
Find the conclusion, premises and what the valued principle is.
Determine what the arguer values. What do they recommend, predict or compare and why?
Determine if the stimulus is in the form of the argument. If so separate the evidence from the conclusion to identify the principle.
Strengthen the Argument
Identify the conclusion and support: This will make the gap more visible. You can also restructure the argument in your own words. The arguer believes [conclusion], because [support].
If there is conditional logic you can write out the logic structure.
Identify the flaw. Once you identify the flaw type, building on the flaw type can help you pick the right answer.
