Define the Study of Science

Understanding mainly how the natural world works, from living things to organisms, plants and even galaxies from observation, evidence and experiments.

Describe the major branches of Science.

There are three different types. There is Environmental/Earth Science, Life Science and Physical Science. Environmental is related to the atmosphere and Earth’s environment, Life Science is about living organisms, and Physical Science is about non-living systems.

Importance of honesty and correction in scientific investigations.

Honesty, responsibility and correct information is crucial so that you have correct data, rightful conclusions and you can make a benefit to the society. With false data, you could misinterpret data or if broadcasted to other people, can lead to wrongful information or lost opportunities in making a good impact to the environment.

Reflect on social, cultural, economic and moral aspects of investigations.

These aspects represent how investigations affect people and its community, improve the quality of life, respecting other traditions, beliefs, cultures, helps industries and businesses with financial costs/benefits, and about ethical research and following responsible practices by avoiding harm.

Identify an area of neuroscience that is exciting.

Specialized Area: Neuroimaging. Neuroimaging includes various imaging modalities which include visualizing and analyzing brain activity and structure.

Australian Scientist who won the Nobel Prize.

Dr J. Robin Warren. Nobel Prize for Medicine- Discovering Helicobacter Pylori. Born in Adelaide, Australia on the 11th of June, 1937 and died in Perth, Australia on the 23rd of July, 2024.

List and explain the safety procedures/rules for the science laboratory. Include the disposing of chemicals.
