Assessment for Learning
Is intended to provide the teachers with information about students' knowledge, understanding, and skills to vary and differentiate teaching and learning activities
It is referred to as formative assessment/ formative learning tool.

Done during before/ during instruction

Involving the students in the learning process where they monitor their own progress, ask questions, and practice their skills.

Intelligence Test
Measures the intelligence quotient (IQ) of an individual
Personality Test
Measures the ways in which individuals interact with other individuals has ascribed to himself in the society
Aptitude Test
Predictive measures of a person's likelihood
Prognostic Test
How well a person is likely to do in a certain school subject/ task
Performance Test
Often make use of manipulative materials. May not have verbal instruction
Diagnostic Test
Measures the weakness of an individual's achievement in any given field.
Achievement Test
Measures what has been learned by the student of the subject matter taught in school
Preference Test
Measures vocational or avocational interest or aesthetic judgment
Accomplishment Test
Measures achievement for the individual subject in the curriculum
Scale Test
Is a series of items arranged in order of difficulty
Power Test
Made of a series of items graded in difficulty from the easiest to the most difficult.
Speed Test
Measures the speed and accuracy within the time limit imposed
Standardized Test
Provides exact procedures in controlling the method of administration and scoring, concerning the reliability and validity of the test
Psychological Test
Measures aspects of behavior such as intelligence, attitudes, and abilities.
Placement Test
Determines the grade or year level the student will be enrolled in after ceasing from school.
Educational Test
Measures the effectiveness of teaching
Mastery Test
Measures the examinee's level of mastery of certain competencies, skills, or content
Survey Test
Measures the examinee's degree of achievement in varied and broad learning outcomes
Informal Test
Non-standardized test; teacher-made test intended to measure day-to-day specific learning outcome
Formative Test
Informal assessment of performance during instruction, such as quizzes, homework, and seatwork
Summative Test
Formal assessment of performance, such as the end of a unit, to provide an overview of achievement
Individual Test
It is administered one-on-one
Group Test
Administered to groups of individuals
Nonverbal Test
Pencil and paper test/ oral test, but words are not used in giving meaning. Like numbers, physical objects, drawing.
Objective Test
A test administered to students in which the scoring is objective
Subjective Test
Where the scores are influenced by the opinion or judgment of the person during the scoring
Take-Home Test
Encourages the students to think about a question, to consult numerous resources inside and outside the school to do fieldwork
Open Book Test
Permits students to consult the text and open their reference book during the test period.
