False axis- Doesn’t go up in 1’s. So you need to work out how many it goes up in if they are asking you to read the chart
Axis increments
This is how much each big square goes up in. You need to make sure that the axis has a high enough number to include all the numbers on the data points. You can then work out how much each increment should be
It’s called false origin not false axis
Some line graphs use a false origin. A false origin allows the vertical scale to start at a different value
A line graph is a type of graph used to spot trends in data over time, eg hours in a day or months in a year. The data points are joined together by line segments.
In a line chart the frequency is usually represented on the verticalscale. The labelling on the horizontal scale represents the increments of time.
