The chemical name for rust, which forms when iron is exposed to water and oxygen.

Corrosion

The more general term for rusting and other similar chemical processes.

Zinc

A silver gray element that can be ground into a powder.

Sulfur

A bright yellow element that forms a simple mixture with zinc at room temperature, but chemically reacts with zinc when heated.

The compound formed when zinc chemically reacts with sulfur upon providing energy in the form of heat.
