Short wavelength radiation is emitted from the sun and hits Earth’s surface some is absorbed and other is re-emitted as long wavelength radiation and the rest is trapped in Earth’s atmosphere by greenhouse gases which store the energy.
What human activities increase methane?
Cattle farming ,rice paddy fields, landfill sites
What human activities increase carbon dioxide?
Burning of fossil fuels and deforestation.
What are the effects of climate change?
Rising sea levels, drought, storms, extreme heat and rainfall
What is a carbon footprint?
The total amount of carbon dioxide and other gases emitted over the life cycle of a product , service or event.
How can you reduce your carbon footprint?
Use public transport, reduce meat consumption, recycle materials, off-set carbon, use renewable energy and improve home insulation.
What does a persons carbon footprint consist of?
All CO2 released by all activities they’re involved in and the manufacture, use and disposal of all the products and resources they use.
