Homogeneous mixture
A mixture that has a uniform composition throughout, where the different components are not distinguishable.
Solution
A homogeneous mixture where one substance (the solute) is dissolved in another (the solvent).
Solute
The substance that is dissolved in a solution.
Solvent
The substance in which the solute is dissolved to form a solution.
