What is a simple random sample? (SRS)

A method of selecting a subset of individuals from a larger population, where each individual has an equal chance of being chosen.

How to conduct a simple random sample? (SRS)

  1. Label individuals (assign numbers/write names on slips of paper)

  2. Use a random number generator or draw slips to select individuals. ( No repeats)

  3. Select desired # of samples
