Subcutaneous Mycoses
Fungal infections occurring beneath the skin.
Mycetoma

Chromoblastomycosis
A fungal infection that presents as nodular masses with sclerotic bodies.
Phaeohyphomycosis
Fungal infections that are often cystic and subcutaneous, but can be systemic.

Dark pigmented molds due to melanin production.

A fungus causing white grain mycetoma and nail infections.
Fonsecaea pedrosoi
The most common cause of chromoblastomycosis worldwide.
Exophiala jeanselmei
A species involved in Phaeohyphomycosis, can localize in the brain.

A genus known for causing phaeohyphomycosis and brain abscesses.
