Occupational justice:

Focuses on making sure everyone has fair and equal opportunities to participate in meaningful occupations.

• Access, choice, and participation 

Within the person or the contacts around them 

Occupational Deprivation:

 prolonged, unavoidable restriction from meaningful occupations due to external factors (poverty, prison, refugee status)

Occupational Alienation:

a feeling of disconnectedness or isolation caused by engaging in activities that provide no personal satisfaction or meaning

Occupational Imbalance:

a lack of balance in daily life,such as having too much work and no time for leisure

Occupational Marginalization:

When people are not afforded the right to choose their own occupations or are excluded from decision-making 

Occupational rights: right to -

• Experience occupation as meaningful and enriching

• Develop through participation in occupations for health and social inclusion

• Exert individual or population autonomy through choice in occupations

Each person's life circumstances and occupational needs are unique and must be acknowledged and honored 

OT:

• Someone who looks at the person’s everyday life and occupations, not just the problem or diagnosis in front of them.

• takes knowledge from occupational science and uses it to determine how to support a person’s participation in meaningful occupations.
